Great seafood, and the staff is awesome! If you are in the Bayou and looking for great seafood you found it. It's where the locals eat.

This place has a deceptive name. Catalina may provoke you to imagine Italian cuisine. The menu is traditional comfort food, featuring local seafood based specials. I highly recommend it. Sweet family owned atmosphere and coastal country decor.

Enjoyed every bit of our visit. Great atmosphere and service. Food was quick and taste delicious. We frequently come down from Indiana and we will visit again!

Food is fair. The fried oyster we had was good. The restaurant has blue plates specials on weekdays, you need to look at the back board for teh specials, which is very reasonably priced. The fried pork chop was a little over cooked and we did not like the crab cakes here. Setting is very cozy and it does get crowded during lunch hour.

Amazing food from appetizer to dessert! The gumbo is impeccable, the most flavorful gumbo I've had my entire life. The fried green tomatoes were delicious. I shared a seafood platter, and every bit was delicious. The pecan pie was as good as grandma made it. I absolutely cannot wait to visit this place again!

I got to say it was very good! Menu was slightly limited however its everything you would expect at a local seafood restaurant. The staff was extremely nice and the place is very clean. Definitely will be returning again.

I remember years ago in the seventies, going to the Catalina as a kid. Wonderful food but, more wonderful people. I moving back to the area and can't wait to go often. I am salivating thinking of the food as I write this.

Went with a large group of people and we had plenty of room in the back. The service was great and the food was too. I'm from New England and our bisque is very different up there than down here. If I think of it as crab and corn chowder, it is very good. The wings were fabulous. Well worth the money.

First time here and the atmosphere was Friendly and Carolyn our server was amazing! The owner was a very Friendly and everyone made us feel welcome!! The food was fresh and delicious! This will NOT be our last time!!

For the absolute very best seafood Bayou La Batre has to offer, eat here. Gumbo and shrimp pivot is almost the best I've ever had. The best being my own! The food is spectacular. The sweet tea is fantastic. The service, Well, you might as well be at home cuz these ladies treat you like family! This is food and service like the Gulf Coast used to be. Please, if you are with in 50 mile of this place you have to make the trip. All you'll need to bring is your appetite and a pillow. You gonna need a nap after!

This is my new go to place! I bought the seafood platter which has everything and I mean everything. I decided on sweet potato and coleslaw which was tasty. But if you're not able to see it all; let me help you. Shrimp Oysters Crab fingers, Crab Cake and a big filet piece of fish with that secret seasoning makes this a worthwhile place to go. I am from Michigan, and when I came down here I wanted to find a local joint that offers 1: fresh food, 2: fresh seafood, 3: local joint(no big chains), 4: friendly southern hospitality. I found that, and more here. I am no food critic, but when you go to a place that is known for local fresh area food, Catalina is where to go. I've had food across the country, and had many local flavors. This place is it.

Worth the drive from anywhere! Six of us went for dinner and all of us either had the baked whole stuffed flounder or the royal red shrimp. The seafood is local and fresh. Portions are large (I only ate half my flounder) and exactly what I think of when I'm thinking of Gulf seafood. The service is attentive, super friendly and fun. My baked flounder was cooked perfectly, buttery without being greasy and the crab stuffing was rich and moist. Again, way more than I could eat.The royal red shrimp that my wife had tasted more like perfectly steamed Maine and didn't need the melted butter that they were served with. Highly recommended.Even the hush puppies were the best. Just the right amount of onion and not doughy or greasy. Prices are good considering the super high quality of the ingredients and the expert preparation. The bill for the two of us (including two beers each) was well under $100.We are going to be in the area for a few more weeks and a return trip is definitely planned.

Holy Pie! Food was great. Ate until we were stuffed. Took a bite of the "miracle" pecan pie and ate it all too. Definitely not frozen food.

So glad we tried this place. Off the beaten path but well worth the trip. Great staff and even better food.

OMG......we were taken a drive looking for shrimp to buy to bring home. Needed some lunch and everything was take out only. Called and they had dine in. Started out a little slow the salad could have used a little more to it. After that everything from the sweet tea to the whole darn meal was nothing short of fabulous.......being from the South this girl knows her oysters and folks that's was the best I have ever eaten. I dont normally have anything to with crab cakes......but that again was the best I have ever tried. Needless to say I will make that drive again just to eat there. Loved it.

Fantastic food and service!!

My wife and I both had the Royal Reds. They came with 2 sides for $20. The food was good and so was the service but the serving size of royal reds was really small for the price. I spent $53 with a tip and we had water and a tea. There are some cheaper things on the menu like their special and poboys.

Great little seafood place. Owner came and talked to us for a bit. She was very funny and accommodating. Seafood was as fresh as it gets, and the gumbo was outstanding

Service was fantastic! Food was very good, the restaurant is charming. Prices good door what you got and my husband said he had the BEST oyster poboy he'd had in years. And he's tried a lot so that's saying something.

You drive up to this little place and you think you're coming into just a warehouse and you see all these cars and you don't know why and then you taste the food ....I tell you you have died and gone to heaven! THE BEST seafood and especially red shrimp boil that God ever made! You MUST go go! Marilyn you are a magnificent waitress!

Best seafood in Alabama. Was a little out of my way to get to, but worth it. The food was excellent and the service was top notch. Stop in if you're in Mobile.

The oysters, shrimp and fried pickles were delicious but the crab cakes were absolutely awful. They were super mushy and not all the way cooked. The taste wasn't good either. The crab au gratin was awful as well. It tasted like it was thrown in the microwave for 2 minutes.The servers were sweet and the food came super fast.

I had the fried shrimp. So delicious. And our waitress was sooooo good. Fast. And took such care of us. Thank you Catalina!!

Great local seafood place. Visiting from out of state while staying on the nearby Dauphin Island. Came for lunch. Parking lot is full of trucks from local workers on lunch break. A good amount of food for the money. I would recommend the shrimp po boy sandwich.

We were out at Dauphin Island for the afternoon and went looking for some seafood on the way home. I'm so glad we drove out of the way to eat at this local spot. The seafood was FRESH and SO tasty. My shrimp was fantastic and my husband raved about the oysters.

It's been around since I've been around it used to be in code in next to an old ice cream shop back in the day but now it resides in what used to be Sambo's grocery and the decor has come along way I love the modern folk see hand-painted crabs portraits along with all of the other nostalgic Seafood bearing way of life. And it was the the location for my friend Dawn 35th birthday party for which we were able to surprise her and the theme was Grey's Anatomy the ladies are indulging in hermetically sealed jello shots. Thanks to the staff of Catalina for all they did to make our experience and surprise Soiree one to remember
